Chris Longwood of SugarHill Recording Studios, Houston, mastered the tracks, and weโ€™re all really pleased with the big sound heโ€™s produced. When we found out Chris works on George Clintonโ€™s tracks, we knew heโ€™d be the guy for us!

So โ€“ watch this space for more clips, videos and stories, weโ€™re delighted to share this exciting time with you!

Cheers!

0 VINTAGE IS BACK!

Koos shared his treasure trove of vintage microphones โ€“ great collection, including a Tesla AMK 102 and an Astatic Model K-2.

Hereโ€™s Dmitry checking out ย a Krundaal Dynamic Cardioid Microphone Mod. 607.ย We used it for the low frequencies in a recent session to record percussion for a new track.

For the top side of the drum we used a Samson Q4. Quite a cheap mic, but stuck into a convenient hole in a chair back, it did the job. In fact, the whole set-up was pretty makeshift, as you can see! Improvisation? We love it! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Weโ€™re delighted to announce that the demo of our first song โ€“ Migration โ€“ is now ready!!!

Written by Dmitry, with Koos on drums and Carol as second vocalist, its our longest track yet, with lots of unusual sound effects, a rippling composition and a great dance rhythm.

carolina DSCF4823 Koos and Dmitry spent hours in the North Pennines home studio perfecting the mixing and mastering, and weโ€™re all pretty pleased with the result. โ€“ Watch this space for a sneak preview!

1 Bishopley Sessions: two new singles on the way!

  • March 5, 2015
  • by MetaQuorum
  • · Posts

Koos & Dmitry Sound EngeneeringWe had a really productive time last week with Koos over from Friesland, the home studio was definitely well into the funk groove! As well as jamming and trying out new sounds, Dmitry and Koos polished two new tracks, recording live drums and key bass. With pre-production complete, the pieces are all set to go to the studio, so weโ€™re looking into ways of funding the next stage. Any suggestions welcome ๐Ÿ˜‰
