1 MIDNIGHT SUN (Remastered) is Live

Midnight Sun (Remastered) was released on 18 June through all our usual digital distribution channels. And we are waiting for a bunch of limited edition CDs to arrive later next week. Why the need for Remaster? , you may ask. Well, the original master wasn’t really loud enough and it didn’t have this ‘big sound’ we developed for the 2016 releases. So Dmitry decided to remaster the album so that it comes closer to this new sound. We think it was a success. The tracks sound bigger and more 3D with many nuances coming to the fore. Give it a listen and see for yourself 🙂

Cheers,

MQ

0 RADIO WAVES

The début single has only been out a couple of weeks but Meta Quorum’s already making it onto the airwaves!
Dutch radio station Smelne FM is to play Clodhopping from the debut album Midnight Sun on Saturday, Jan 24th on the Dick de De Graaf’s De Etherbak show from 17.00 – 18.00 on 106.5 FM (cable 96.1). They’ll also be playing a couple of tracks by drummer Koos’ two former bands Megakronkel and Big Tree with another MetaQuorum track to follow on the De Etherbak show in two weeks time.
Apparently, if you live more than 25 km from Drachten NL, the best way to listen is via http://www.smelnefm.nl 😉
A local radio DJ from Saltburn-by-the-Sea was so taken with MetaQuorum’s music video he wants the music for his show, so listen out for North Sea Fret on Chill with H. http://www.mixcloud.com/harrye41/
And finally – Dmitry was interviewed earlier today (January 22, 2015) by Seva Novgorodtsev for BBC’s Russian Service – if you understand Russian, listen in here@

0 Live drums come in!

Hi folks!

Well, Dmitry’s back from his trip to Holland safe and sound – and definitely inspired! It was a pretty intense high voltage time, and there’s lots of new music out there for future albums.

Koos re-recorded drums, live, for two tracks on MetaQuorum’s forthcoming album Midnight Sun, so while Dmitry was out there, the two of them re-mixed the pieces in Koos’s home studio in Friesland overcoming numerous technical obstacles! After all they were working with two PCs on different OS’, four sound-cards, three DAWs all intricately linked by meters of cables.

The finishing touches have been added over on our side of the North Sea, by Ed Lopez from Loft Studios, who re-mastered them and slotted them back into the Midnight Sun album. The new drums give a great mellow rhythm to the bluesy title track, Midnight Sun, and really add a kick to the dance track Clodhopping.

Although they were kept pretty busy remixing these two pieces, Dmitry and Koos did find time for some live play, and we’re sure this will lead to something rather special!

KIM
