1 MIDNIGHT SUN (Remastered) is Live

Midnight Sun (Remastered) was released on 18 June through all our usual digital distribution channels. And we are waiting for a bunch of limited edition CDs to arrive later next week. Why the need for Remaster? , you may ask. Well, the original master wasn’t really loud enough and it didn’t have this ‘big sound’ we developed for the 2016 releases. So Dmitry decided to remaster the album so that it comes closer to this new sound. We think it was a success. The tracks sound bigger and more 3D with many nuances coming to the fore. Give it a listen and see for yourself 🙂

Although we have a quite tough recording/mixing/mastering schedule, we also find time for some live play here and there – here’s Koos trying out the Steven Slate Drums VST plug-in, metal style!

0 NEW ALBUMS UNDERWAY!

As well as recording a couple of new funky instrumental tracks, Koos and Dmitry are laying down the parts for a new song, Migration. It will be the title track for a new album, a mix of songs and instrumentals. We’re currently honing the sounds and finalizing the arrangement.

0 SUMMER IS HERE!

Summer’s made a late entry here in the North Pennines and ‘rain stopped play’ at the home studio for a while, too, as we tussled with technical trouble. Back on track now, though – treated ourselves to an upgrade, so MetaQuorum are now the proud owners of Cubase 8 Pro! The interface had been totally reworked, plus there’s lots of cool sounds to explore, so we’re looking forward to experimenting with them.

Hi folks,

It’s been a while since we posted any new music for you, so here are a couple of take-outs from the February Bishopley Sessions. We’ve selected a short, sweet Modal Ditty by Dmitry, and an energetic soundcheck with Koos we’ve nicknamed ‘Duo of Drums and PC Keyboard’ – spontaneous synchronicity as Dmitry was simultaneously setting a recording session up in Cubase.
